Shawn O'Rourke is the firm's managing shareholder and concentrates his practice in civil and business litigation. Mr. O'Rourke has successfully tried and settled numerous complex cases involving construction and real estate litigation, business disputes, medical negligence, defective products and liquor liability, among others. In addition, he oversees the firm's eviction practice. Mr. O'Rourke also helps hospitality industry businesses to obtain the necessary licensing to start or maintain a retail establishment.

Mr. O'Rourke is very involved in Massachusetts' small business community. He served as Vice Chair of the Board and as a member of the Executive Committee (2006-2008) for the Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE).  Since 2006, he has also served as Chair for SBANE's Government Affairs Committee, where he works closely with legislators in developing new legislation to benefit the small business community. He also volunteers as a conciliator in the Middlesex County Superior Court in Lowell.

  • $6,600,000 settlement for negligence in administering anesthesia, resulting in coma
  • $1,900,000 settlement in a construction negligence case
  • $1,500,000 settlement in medical malpractice case involving misdiagnosed infection
  • $1,200,000 settlement in premises liability case resulting in loss of limb
  • $990,000 settlement in premises liability case for wrongful death of 90-year old woman
  • $750,000 settlement in medical malpractice case where over sedation caused wrongful death in a stroke patient
